Trump World: che cosa cambia per noi? (parte 5: io NON sono membro)

Alcuni dati dal Wall Street Journal di oggi 9 novembre 2016:

  • Some of the largest and most widely used equity exchange-traded funds saw huge outflows on Wednesday, following Republican Donald Trump’s underdog victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton.
  • The SPDR S&P 500 ETF  —the largest ETF on the market, with nearly $190 billion in assets—saw outflows of $828.22 million over the past day, according to FactSet data, by far the most of any ETF. The equity fund with the second-largest outflows was the SPDR S&P MidCap 400 ETF Trust which saw more than $200 million pulled.
  • The S&P 500 ETF fell 0.4% in volatile trading on Wednesday. The S&P 500 was off slightly but pared steep losses seen in the futures market late Tuesday and early Wednesday as a Trump victory started to appear imminent.
  • In aggregate, $213 million was pulled from equity ETFs over the past day; $2.09 billion has flowed out of the category this week.
  • Other fund categories also saw outflows over the past session. Alternative funds saw $130 million pulled, led by the Barclays Bank PLC iPath S&P 500 VIX Short-Term Futures exchange-traded which allows investors to play market volatility.

Oggi 9 novembre 2016 sui mercati finanziari c'è un sicuro vincitore (e per distanza) sono le banche di intermediazione internazionali, le banche di investimento, le Goldman Sachs e le BNP Paribas e le UBS (e tutte le altre), che hanno messo giù una montagna di commissioni di negoziazione.

Nella nostra lettera ai Clienti del weekend, e poi anche ieri mattina in The Morning Brief, Recce’d ha scritto che c’è una differenza molto ampia tra un gestore di portafoglio ed un trader-on-line. E ha sottolineato la differenza fondamentale tra l’attività di gestione e le scommesse (ad esempio) al Sisal Match Point o Bet365. Un concetto centrale, nella nostra attività di gestione dei portafogli.

Chi ha venduto stamattina ha perso, chi ha comperato ha guadagnato, ma chi ha messo giù commissioni ha guadagnato più di tutti.

Chi è stato fermo, ha risparmiato tempo, commissioni (e delusioni). Noi continueremo ad operare così, e speriamo che amici e Clienti continuino a farlo insieme a noi.
